My new vintage diver
Discussion
Well, I'm not sure it can be considered vintage but it's not retro and it is old.
Anyway... The make's Sicura. The owner bought Breitling back in the 70s, according to the interweb. I mean the owner of Sicura not the previous owner of this particular watch.
Manual wind with a pin and pallet movement. Whatever that means.

Nice bit of "wabi" and ageing lume. Should arrive tomorrow.

I'll get a nicer shot done if there's nice weather tomorrow.

Shadow, may I ask what you do? You seem to have an incredible amount of new watches all the time. And yes, I might be a little jealous...

The secret is that they are not expensive watches at all. This new diver cost me just £100. The most expensive one is that vintage Seamaster. The average price of my watches is probably around £30, helped by picking up a couple of older ones such as my 70s Sekonda ("Made in USSR"!) and a 50s Osco for under £10, a quartz Orient that looks suspiciously like a Rolex Date-just that I got FOC and an lk colouring Panerai-a-like (that I tried to fix but ruined so now it just has one huge hour hand) for £15.

I could probably have just bought one decent watch if I didn't keep buying cheap watches but I get much more pleasure from having a number of nice (or perhaps interesting) timepieces that I can swap between throughout the day as the mood takes me. Besides, I appreciate the different designs in them all.
If I was seriously rich, I'd probably have a lust-worthy collection but I am not so I don't.
