I've done a search and can't see any previous post, so...

Just found this site that shows them restoring what I think is one of the most beautiful of the 80's supercars, albeit rather forgotten now.

The car seems to have been stored in dock warehouses(!).

I thought it was Xero, did a bit of work for them in BTCC and Radicals in 2006. They were just getting underway on this car back then.

It's an awesome bit of kit and gorgeous looking.

What do the XJR15 rear lights come from? I can't imagine they were made specifically for this car.

I'm guessing a Rover of some sort. 400?

Not a Rover.

An old Mazda I think it is, maybe a 626 - Google images isn't helping prove it though.

I have always loved the XJR15 and one has a permanent place on my dream garage list. Apparently they were complete monsters to drive, very prone to oversteer. During their short lived race series a number were crashed. I always felt the 15 was a lot better looking the the XJ220. Also they look very good in orange:

Yep, I heard this too. I seem to remember seeing Tiff drive one on a video I had and saying it was horrendous.

Got to agree with that. Never thought the XJ220 was particularly good looking.

I always preferred on of the other Jag V12 powered supercars myself, don't see much of them these days either:

I always loved this car - it's always been a "when I win the lottery" car - that and a few others.

The 220 though - it was pretty, but somewhow got ugly as it made it to reality - just a shame it never got the V12 and 4x4 that it needed.

I never liked the Storm in road guise - looked quite awkwardly-styled. The sound was epic the one time I saw one on the road so big thumbs up for that.

Looked awesome in race trim and I'd have one in a heartbeat.

They just needed a bit more development and race time.

I was going to say that, but when you consider that the red 'n' white pair are part of the tailgate, then imagine the remaining cluster with those out of the way, I think it's spot on.

Yep. That works for me and justifies my original comment. smile

How many were made for road use and how much more valuable are they than XJ220s?

Love those cars. Practically a road legal Silk Cut Jag for the road. I recall they staged a race with a full grid of `em at Monaco in the early 90`s..

...edited to a race info from OP`s link.

"Sixteen of the cars were raced at the 1991 Jaguar Sport Intercontinental Challenge in Monaco. The event was a three-race competition held in August of that year. The winner, Armin Hahne, was awarded a cash prize of US$1 million."

Should of gone to specsavers then!
