After an extensive night on the sauce last night I'd be curious to hear everyones take on the best hangover cure, strangely for me an apple seems to do wonders as opposed to the usual greasy fry up.. so what are your suggestions?

I don't have a cure, because I've never been able to shake a really bad one off. The only cure is time.

Lots of water/isotonics, easily digestible food, rest and a darkened room seem to help, but the horrible low feelings, racing heartbeat and shakes only go away towards the end of the following day for me.

I'd have thought after Scotland you'd be able to take on any drinking session and be bright and breezy the following morning. smile

If in the office, drink lots of water to combat the dehydration and eat carbs to soak up what's still not been processed.

Shocking behaviour on a school night. nono

wobble Flat coke/fanta or other suitable drink loaded with sugar, but works better flat (don't know why!) . 2 litre bottle of water next to the desk and force yourself to finish it over the next couple of hours. Something simple for the stomach to deal with (toast, oatcakes etc) Then a walk in the fresh air

Hope you feel better wavey

I know I know, but we were taking my boss out on a big night, and stayed out as long as he wanted to - really I was forced to stay out, if it had been up to me I would have been home for 10pm wink

Nail a pint of water with 2 Alka Seltza first thing in the morning, and follow it up with a Berocca.

Then a bacon sarnie and fresh air. and a bottle of water. Dont sit inside and let it fester.

As posted previously:

There is a hangover cure which I'm prepared to share with you, however you must follow it to the letter.

  1. Get up, drink some Lucozade sport, or squash if you don't have the former, take on at least a litre of liquid.
  2. Eat as much greasy food as you can, if you're feeling really rough this may take a couple of hours.
  3. Now, get a duvet, lay on the sofa (do not go back to bed) with something boring on TV (F1 works for me), drink more liquid and have a nap.
  4. When you wake up with a lazy semi, you need to seize the moment and have a wk.
  5. Now, go and purge with a massive dump.
  6. Shave
  7. Shower
  8. G&T
  9. Line of coke
I can give you a 100% guarantee that if you follow that lot to the letter, you'll be up and ready for the pub by the end of it. God knows I've used it enough times biggrin
I think this plan needs a slight modification for the female of the species, but thank you for sharing smile

Pint glass, cold water, 2 heaped teaspoon of Andrews Salts, 1 berocca tablet.

For more serious cases, cold vindaloo curry/peperoni pizza, followed by an ice cold bottle of Stella (on non school mornings obviously).
