As part of debugging my 350i before I sold it I looked into the excessive tramlining I was experiencing on the ruts on the motorway.

Last night I found that the top shock mountings were very slightly loose, so I nipped them up. The result is much less steering-induced wibble and a much more solid feel to the front.

So if you have this problem it's worth checking those shocks - it's a quick fix!

Adam, it could be caused by the tyre width because the width of the tyres are bigger than the ruts in the road. I have that problem.
PS-- how's the anorak, from Marks and spencers.
Cheers jonny...
