A question:- Now that security requirements in IVA regs stipulate Cat 2 immob minimum fitted by VBIB or MSEF accredited installer, has anyone had any joy getting a mobile fitter to come out and fit to a car mid build?

I've found one in my area who want a premium for mobile fit, and one won't fit until the engine will run! Was ideally wanting to get the immob fitted during build when the loom is exposed... and avoid some car security chap chopping into my wiring post build.

Seems many car security firms aren't VSIB accredited - several have told me it's a waste of time / money!! - and is not required for insurance companies... just by Vehicle Inspectorate in the regs.

I negotiated a 'Work Share' agreement with my local installer. I installed it and he inspected it and wrote the certificate.

As you say, a much better install can be done and far more difficult to bypass as all the wires are bound up in the loom.
