Okay, I give up. What the hell is that?
Looks like something old and American to me...
On another note, I remember reading somewhere on here that they were using the physics engine based on the one from GRID for this... although that linky says different.
Its the Nissan Hakosuka KPGC10 Skyline. They have a few internal and external screenshots of it on the same link. If Shift turns out to look like that in actual gameplay, i'd be extremely impressed! The attention to details of the dash and rear-view mirror alone is enough for me to buy that..Looks like something old and American to me...

I really hope EA pull out all the stops with this one, as the last few titles have been slightly disappointing after the original Underground titles.

Looks a stunner, but a Grid copycat? What happened to the old scool NFS style games
That would be nice to have those long checkpoint and chase stages, but because people demand free roam environments now, the maps would need to be huuuge, the nearest thing would be testdrive unlimited. Hopefully that will get a sequel with not only one place but several cities with scrub-land and canyon roads in between, to give that gumball rally vibe.

Cars and tracks have now been announced,

Still not sure about the arcadeness in the trailers, maybe just showing skidding and crashes to appeal to the yoof market,
still looks good though,

Gotta agree...there seems to be life injected into the series.

That trailer looks very disappointing now, compared to the likes of FM3 and GT5. I know they're in a different league, but considering how good the initial screenshots looked for this, i'm not incredibly impressed now.

Yes its more arcade-based and yes its never really been as much true simulation, but I don't like the fact that in nearly every shot in that trailer the car being focused on manages to launch itself passed everyone else, even through corners.. Also, considering the amount of almost forced crashes, i didn't see a hell of alot of damage.. perhaps i'm being a little negative, but FM3 and GT5 are certainly miles ahead and i'd wait that extra month or so to purchase those before i consider buying this.
All depends on gameplay, this is probably the worst driver ever. But the grid atmosphere looks nice,

Ok, well thats given it a slightly different light. The starting grid did look pretty cool, and also that was some of the worst game driving i think i've ever seen, it did highlight things like damage and in-car environment, which looks quite impressive. Think i'm doing what most tend to do and picking holes before i've played it. Think i'll wait to see if a demo appears on Live later in the year and then give it a try. One things for sure, they've certainly put alot of effort into the interior modelling. I just hope this hasn't detracted from the overall game physics.
