Hi everyone

A friend and myself are heading off to the Nurburgring for the first time in July, leaving the uk on Saturday 4th July after spending the Friday at the Goodwood Festival Of Speed, so should be at the Nurburgring for the Sunday 5th

Our chosen transport is the cheapest Celica known to man, that we have bought especially to take to the track and as far around our chosen route as possible.laugh

I have browsed other posts and the Stelvio Pass looks like a favourite for the Alps we are then hoping to get to Lake Como then on to Turin. If time is on our side we are also hoping to "pop" into Monaco just to say we have been there.

Is anyone else going to be over there then?

Please have a look at this link, http://www.bangernomics.blogspot.com the blog is covering our trip , as it is likely to be a one off for us for the foreseable. The car is going to undergo a new paint scheme in the next couple of weeks, even if it is ends up being a roller and paint brush biglaugh

If you have looked at the blog you will appreciate that no expense is being spent so it should be an interesting trip.

Any advice, mickey taking or sarky coments are of course welcome wobble

Sounds like a great trip! Stelvio is a must. We were heading on down into Otaly too, and stopped at Lake Garda - highly recommended!

San Bernard Pass (Italian/Swiss Border N of Turin) is where the Italian Job was filmed. We did it last summer - recommended!

Extended footage of the Stelvio Pass is due on Pistonheads TV soon.

After Monaco head back via the Route Napoleon if you have time to spare.

Enjoy it, and take lots of pics/video

Pics and video are being sorted now, I have a feeling their will be too much we want to do in the time available.headache

The irony is that it started out with just the Nurburgring that we really wanted to do, and the rest was a "well while we are over there..." but now the Nurburgring is almost taking up valuable time that we could spend on all of these terrific routes. What a dilema to have laugh

The Itallian job route is another "must do" crikey the car will need rocket motors to get round all this stuff.

Hmmmm.....

Starting to wish we had rear wheel drive now, after looking at those hairpins.

Good excuse for a return visit at a later date driving

I'm going to be there from the Saturday until tuesday there's 4 of us going.

We're starting at spa on the 28th of June and then heading into the alps until getting to the ring.
