Tamora Expansion Tank Mod?

I've read various references to a mod for the tamora using a sagaris expansion tank? I've done a search and cant find anything, could someone explain what this is, the advantages and costs/work involved? Cheers! Dom

I had the mod done to my early T350c after having issues with water constantly escaping from the blue cap at the top of the swirl pot / expansion tank when no other problems were found, such as the radiator fans not working which can cause the same symptoms. If you are confident that your fans are working, there is no air in the system, the radiator is sound and not leaking, you have the water levels correct etc. etc. and you are still having issues then the Mk2 expansion tank might be the way to go. I previously had the older style T350 front end with a vertically mounted radiator which may not have helped cooling in my car.

This mod is a replacement swirl pot / expansion tank with a brass cap on the top where the old filler cap used to be, this is not designed to be removed. There is a new outlet pipe in the new tank with a hose attached to it which then goes to a new expansion / water tank. This tank is attached to the inner wing. This allows more space for expansion when hot and also makes it easier to top the water up and check levels

Back in 2006 when I had my mod done the parts were:

Expansion Tank Mk2 - £51.04
Water Tank Mk2 - £33.32
Header tank bracket - ?

I had TVR Power carry out the mod but I'm sure any TVR garage out there could do it.
