I'm looking to finally upgrade from a CRT TV to a plasma / LCD and was wondering what you good people would recommend? I have around £700 to spend and it will be the main TV in the house. Looking for approx 37 inch and will also be attaching a sky HD box plus blue ray and home cinema in the near future.

It's been a while since I last did this so if anyone can recommend any models / brands that would fit the bill it would be appreciated

As always, what's you're viewing distance?
Does the budget stretch to £900 for the right TV?

Panasonic 42X10 for £600 ish or 42G10 for £900 ish - depends on whether you'll be sitting close enough to benefit from the extra resolution.
Also gets you FreeSat - maybe 2 dishes is a bit much though?
The 42S10 is a cut-price G10 at £800 ish, but would still be Full HD and FreeSat, so viewing distance still part of the equation.

Viewing distance is a tricky one as we're moving into a new build but I know the room is 3.63m x 4.72m . It's not the biggest room so I guess viewing distance would not be huge. Budget is open to stretching subject to bonus's and how nice I am to my good lady wife but would like to keep nearer the £700 mark if possible

Then 42 or 50X10 viewed at 10-12' for SD and 'regular' HD.
8' viewing, and you're on the cusp of 42S/G10 with Full HD from Blu-Ray.
