Can anyone advise how to remove the gear lever & hand brake surrounds in order to change the gaitors any help would be appreciated

you need to remove the centre console, two screws either side at the front by your knee, one at the back under the air vent which pulls out, take off the handbrake by the small allen bolt, unscrew the gear knob, lift the console carefully up, watching the wiring at the front and the airpipe at the back, move to one side and the gaitors will lift up which are attached to the carpeted fibreglass piece by glue.

Whitey thanks for that only took half an hour discovered another engineering triumph wood screws int fibreglass i will have to rivnut them.
