Yup, I think they were camping at crystal palace before heading to the seaside. I heard talk of a mini convoy record attempt, so might have been that you saw.

Yep, it was the London to Brighton Mini run - over 2000 Mini's celebrating the Mini's 50th anniversary......a bit of rain but a great run and the old Mk1 made it without missing a beat......roll on the Silverstone meet! smile

well done mate glad your little mini made it ok, would have been great to have tagged along with the convoy but my poor mini has no internals yet. Himley hall gave me a kick up the ass, i felt sick turning up in a ford focus..sacralidge. all bodywork will be done by nxt week end then off for paint...woo hooo.

2000?

More like 3000 mate! There are 2100 official participants and they turned away nearly another 1000 this year! Ok, so 2999 actually as mine blew a headgasket this week and we had to go in a Skoda instead, the shame! Great meet as ever though, favourite show by far for me, even without a Mini.

Pity the weather didn#t play ball though!

Indeed, definitely impressive......a great weekend but toying with the idea of putting the Mk1 up for sale so might not be able to enter next years.
