hi,

drove to work and back without any drama, left the car for 3 hours then blipped the alarm and tried to start and nothing but clicking and lights flashing on the dash?
radio, lights, wipers, windows and everything works but just wont make any attempt to start.

after a few moments with the key in the ignition the alarm start to go off.

is this a fault with immobiliser?
what can i do to get the thing going again?

help!!

Just clicking when you turn the key?

Could it be the fuel cut-off switch? Under the passenger seat in my 145, not sure where on the GTV.

I had a similar problem years ago on a Montego and it turned out to be a loose wire on the starter motor.

Only ever did it in the dark.

The cut off switch is on the side wall of the passenger foot well, just push the rubber button on the top

It sounds too bleedin' obvious, but it's not the battery is it? - (ie is there enough juice in it to turn the starter motor?)

My first reaction was battery.

The radio e.t.c will still work, but it takes a lot of juice to turn an Alfa over.

If the speedo lights were flicking on and off as you tried turning it over, will almost certainly be the battery.
