A bit of a crosspost but thought the DIY fiends might have some handy ideas.

I need to build an 'L' shaped counter in my new unit. Costs need to be kept low for now so don't want to pay a shopfitter £000's.

Any ideas? Original post is in Business

Cheap kitchen base units, melamine or perhaps solid wood if B&Q are doing a special for the worktop. Then I would tounge and groove the outward-facing side and either paint or varnish.

Ditch the counter all together, and buy some nice cheap desks to sit face to face with your customers. you will be amazed the positive effect it will have by removing the counter. Gives a more professional and personal feel to your business IMHO
