nottingham stag weekend advice
Discussion
Hi,
I have to organise a stag that for various reasons has to be in nottingham. I want to do the usual paintballing in the afternoon can anyone recommend anywhere in/nr nottm? Is there a min age limit?
We're having a "civilised" meal thats sorted but would want to go to a pub/club/gentlemens club later on - any recommendations? - we're 37ish old so nothing too towny/young but fun and somewhere 10 blokes can get into and letch?
thanks

4550 Miles from Dheli - Curry's - As reccomended to myself by BG, I have been a few times and it never fails to impress. Can get expensive but worth every penny.
If you want cheap you can goto Tamatanga which is very nice in but in more of a social setting i.e. Other public sit next to you!. Apparently its a couple of cooks from 4550, and Cumin.
Nice bars are around Lace Market, Pitcher and Piano is a converted church which is rather cool! (You are likely to be frisked/searched on the way in and ID is a must). HaHa is another nice bar, Couple of Vodka bars called Revolution which serve some nice cocktails.
Basically Maid Marrion Way and then get the tram to Lace Market. Avoid Halo nightclub unless you want a good slashing.
Good Clubs apparently!:
Gatecrasher, Oceana, Rock City, depends what you are into!

Food wise I would definitely recommend 4550. Best Indian resteraunt in Nottingham IMO. Avoid Tarmatanga unless you like your curry watery and bland.
Try Adrenaline Jungle for paintballing. Went there for quad biking and seemed like a nice place.
As for clubs, that would depend on what day you are going on. Gatecrasher are known to overcrowd the club. Suppose it depends what sort of music you are into?

I have only had burgers from Tamatanga and they seem pretty tasty, and the chips are good.. Suppose I havent really tried their currys!Try Adrenaline Jungle for paintballing. Went there for quad biking and seemed like a nice place.

anyone been to senoritas having a quick look on google?
Not been on a senoritas night but been on an Isis night many a time (standard club night). The club is quite nice but out in an indusrtial estate no where near the centre (near Greypauls Ferrari dealer). It would probably be about an £8 taxi from the centre. It is supposed to be quite a popular club on senoritas night.ChristianZS said:

I have taken friends to both restaurants and none have had a bad thing to say about either.

adrenaline jungle looks quite far out of nottingham - is it in reality? thanksTry Adrenaline Jungle for paintballing. Went there for quad biking and seemed like a nice place.

Hooters!!!!!!
truth!I think you should go oceana

i seem to remember findin myself in skilodge type bar in there at one point.
There was a good indoor gokart track somewhere near by aswell was there for a few hours on a endurance style race and drunk driving gokarts is fun.
Food wise, id also recommend 4550 miles to thingy. Memsaab is also good but maybe a bit posh for a stag do.
As mentioned before, a visit to Pitcher and Piano is worthwhile (bring ID), and the other pubs nearby (Brass Monkey/Dogma/Keanes Head (no music, but good beers)). Id also recommend Saltwater (roof of Cornerhouse) for a few late afternoon beers if the sun is out.
Oceana is ok I guess if you are pissed out of your face, though id be careful on the way in because the bouncers are incredibly picky.

And you will only get shot if you go to Halo so don't worry about all the gun related comments

Laguna Tandoori is a very good curry house, on a par with Delhi imo, either way both are very good, laguna is cheaper. Saltwater does good food but can be expensive, i think the chinese on the floor below saltwater (flaming dragon or something similar, in corner house) is supposed to be good.
Clubs, Cookie Club/Rock City for your Rock/Alt, I am not a fan of oceania always find it a bit sleazy, Gatecrasher is supposed to be fairly decent although never been to it in any of its versions. Dogma is fairly nice place also.
Pubs, waterfront area is good with the canal house being a great bar, via fosse isnt bad either and then theres the old trip and ye old salutations to break up your 5minute walk to the centre (with the latter usually having a live band on at the weekends). Otherwise you cant go much wrong with stuff at the lace market, usually over priced but generally nice places to be in.
