Rebuild or replace shocks
Discussion
The shocks on my Westfield are getting a bit tired now, and I can't decide whether to get them rebuilt or replace them with new ones. At the moment I have got the original 10 year old Trax Spax fitted, which will cost around £75 per corner to get rebuilt, but for a similar price, I could get a new set of Protechs that are valved for the weight of the Westie. What's going to give me the better shock, the new Protechs, or the rebuilt Trax Spax? Has anyone got any experience of both?
My friend won the RGB championship and he swears by the tracSpax. But that is for racing, and those were new in 06 and specifically built for his car. He has raced with most other makes but said the the TS were FAR supperior and dramatically made his car faster over the kerbs. But he maintains for road use Protechs are good enough. I would suggest of you have TS already then get them rebuilt but to the weight of your car.
