Who is in there?

Who has been before? I have spent 16 years in Blu Nord

I realise i shouldnt expect sleep, and no problem, but is there a good atmosphere in the site? Bringing the other half this year for the first time ever,so any nice things i can tell her (even stretched truth counts!) would ease her mind somewhat.

What are the facilities like overall?
Are there many mad dutch in there?

Many thanks

hi mate,

been to HA for the last three years and 08 was very different as the campsite is about 1/4 the size it used to be. there are allocated plots now so i expect that will very, very slightly tone down the atmosphere, but only a tad.

facilities are ok, the toilets usually have paper in them and the showers are usually hot, there was even a kebab van last year!

it is great fun, there are loads of great people (some mad dutch). Why not pop over to our camp for a beer any time after wednesday afternioon? we have 22 people on eight plots and there is always a few having a drink. i will let you known which plots when the tickets arrive.

You are on for that.

Im going with the other half (who has no idea what to expect) 2 mates (one has been 16 years, one has been 10) my dad (3rd year) and uncle (virgin). 4 in a red volvo, old man and uncle going in a sodding motorhome (as they are old and need comfort apprarently). Mind you, it meas we have a decent BBQ, a shower and a fridge, so i am as happy as!

Let me know where you are, i feel a beer coming on!

Here Mike, have you spoken to Tickets2U about when they'll be sending out our tickets and whether they are all next to each other?

P.S. to the OP, it's a great atmosphere at HA, it's not as rowdy as some people might lead you to believe, although it's not the best place to be if you like a quiet time! Just a good place to be if you like a drink, a laugh, a BBQ and another drink! ;-)

I'd probably avoid Friday evening at the roundabout if you want to avoid people behaving poorly but the campsite itself is no bother at all.

I have heard about the roundabout and will avoid it ta.
Mind you, on the road outside camping blu it has got far worse over the last few years. What used to be a quick spray with a water pistol has become in one case 2 years ago, a bucket of water straight into a new Aston.
Rather hoping the credit crunch will deter a few tossers this year

Rory has spoken to them and they are being sent out tomorrow. when i ordered i did it very early and they said we could get the eight plots next to each other and would try and get us a 4 x 2 instead of eight in a row, but we won't know until we get the tickets this week.

I also have a group of 21 staying on 8 pitches in HA.

Sounds like a similar group to you chaps - we will certainly enjoy a few beers and BBQs but are not the type to be firing water pistols at others' pride and joy. Hope to see lots of like-minded people staying in HA!

sounds very similar, as long as people have fun without pissing off others then it is fine. and on HA don't get pissed off if other people are playing the music a tad loud or late! while we are considerate to other we do go through difficulty to get HA passes so we can make a bit more noise without worrying about other people being annoyed with us.

What is this 'liver' you talk of?

Mines only fit to sponge the car these days

Houx Annexe was not much good last year - very little space, lots of ignorant chavs roping-off football pitches for a handful of cars, cars damaged, our tables stolen and pitch smashed up ...

We didn't have any trouble last year, although there wasn't any point where there was no-one at our camp so that probably put off any potential tealeaves.

As for the space, this year Houx Annexe is marked and allocated so the space you get will be fixed.

houx annexe is good, been last 2 years. last year was abit cramped but shouldn't be so bad this year as tickets were harder to get hold of. There arn't to many mad dutch. Generally the people in there are nice, but some chavs didi nick our firey lantern pole thingys from outside our tent.
That said if your taking the misses, probably the best place with regards to toilets and showers.I went with 2 girls last year and a good heads up to keep her hapy is tell her to take some wet wipes, and flip flops for the showers,
hope that helps!

the only problem we had last year was some c*nts who keyed cars, they didn't get ours but the did a few. could have been anyone (not just people staying in HA). that is the only bad thing to have happened in the last three years that we have been going to HYA. you have to know what you are in for with regards to noise and people drinking a lot, but if you like partaking in these4 events then it is great fun and not to be missed!
