Hi there,

Any idea's if there's a towbar available for this (discrete would be nice). I seem to remember some problem to do with the rear bumper.

Cheers,

You could try this lot http://www.towequipe.co.uk/categorylist/bmw-1-seri... but you will have to check as I don't know whether coupe means the hatch with 2 doors or the saloon looking one with 2 doors. Could always ring them.

Had a detachable on my Disco so it looked nice and clean at the back when it wasn't needed.

I suspect it will require cutting of the rear valence though, so it wont look as clean when detached as it does on a 4x4.

They had to cut the rear valence on my e60 5 series to fit a detachable aftermarket towbar, and i'm a bit gutted.

Hmm, I'm not wanting to have that done really, few phone call's required I think!

BMW themselves sell one for the 1 Series which is detachable and I believe hidden when detached, probably expensive but may be worth a look

I'm not sure it can be retrofitted easily though - i had a factory fit one on my 3 series, and it came with a button in the boot to drop the towbar down etc. Very impressive but hard to retro.

Get a clear commitment that the rear valence will NOT be cut. I was told it would be 'minimal' and they would cut 'little as possible' but thats not the reality.

Might be an e60 thing though due to the shape of bumpers etc.

a late reply here but witter do a swan neck removable which required no cutting and the electrics fold up so there is nothing visable when removed
