Hi Guys,

I need some help!

i saw a 54 plate gallardo yesterday with 24k miles. recently serviced and clutch changed at 19k miles.
i want to know if the mileage is high! it has FLSH and is maintained well
it doesnt have the extras sat nav, hydraulic lift or other trim extras which dont matter to me but curious what is really needed!
what woudl you pay for such a car?

thanks

Its got 24k miles but you want to know if the mileage is high? For a 5 year old car, i would say that the mileage is low. 54 plate is a pre-facelift car(495bhp) so would not come with hydraulic lift. Going by the classifieds and the basic information you have posted(no Colour & Transmission mentioned),i would price it at £55-£60k.

Defo get a specialist to check it over as you could be left with big bills with the wrong car.

Is it the yellow one up on Verdis for £59995 which is also available direct from the owner for £57K ish?

If so I would pay below £55K.

Hi, £60k is pricey for a manual 2004 Gallardo. Face lift first appeared in the 2005 SE, i believe all 2006 onwards cars are facelifted with the extra BHP. No doubt a more experienced guy will clarify.

Edit -
For the MY2006 (launched in late 2005) Lamborghini introduced many changes to the car to counter some criticisms garnered by the press and owners. These were derived from the limited edition Gallardo SE. The exhaust system was changed to a more sporty one (including a flap to make it quieter around town), the suspsension was revised and a new steering rack was fitted, the engine power was increased by 20bhp to a maximum of 520bhp, the biggest change was an overall lowering of the gearing especially in 1st to 5th. The result was a much improved car, it handled and turned in better, sounded better under full throttle and the extra power and lower gearing turned an already fast car into a seriously quick one.

Go for late 55 / 06 or later. In the UK the cars have a 3 year warranty so you might find one with some warranty left on it. Also, spend more time looking at the service history and talking to the people that have serviced it than drooling over it. If you can afford more but get a cheaper car, put a 3rd party warranty on it. Get a snap test done on the clutch as well. Verdis will be able to plug in the diagnostics device. There's about 75 pages of info available but get a look at the clutch reading for sure. Also, ask for any bills and previous MOT's if you are going for an older car. I would get the oil and oil filters changed as well. Finally, find out where the servicing has been done and go speak to them. If the car has spent a long time sitting in a garage plugged into a life support system for months on end......go find another car. Very low mileage cars will probably show up more problems later than regularly driven cars IMHO. Anyway good luck with whatever you get and enjoy the hell out of it.
