Jim Clark Rally
Discussion
Just wondering if any of you are out spectating on the Jim Clark this coming weekend in the Borders?
It's usually a great event and I'm looking to go up at some point over the weekend. Problem is that getting any info on the stages/times etc. seems alomost impossibe without forking out £25 quid for a rally planner!
Does anyone have the stage times at all? Ideally for the Reivers Rally (Sunday)
Cheers
Nick

I would also be greatful of any info.
Every Rally I go to I see to just drive around and not see many car due to my lack of organizing and information.
Good idea about the council website for road closures but doesn't really tell you what time they will be at that stage.
Can't mind how I got info previous years but pretty sure I never paid £25.

I am sure the stages are closed about 40 mins before the first cars go through
http://www.multimap.com/maps/?zoom=15&countryC... Berwickshire, Scotland, TD11 3
use the above map as its ordanace survey and will have all the roads on it as the organisers often erase roads from the programme, narrow, difficult access etc.
I will see if i can get accurate stage times and map. Look out for one in the motorsport news, they often print one.

I'll keep an eye out for your mk2, you're running pretty high up the order in the reivers!

I'm from Duns and when I lived there I always used to spectate - amazing rally, great fun.
Always a bit of a laugh in the days before, seeing the drivers writing their notes on open roads. I remember being overtyaken by Gwundaf Evans in a yellow Seat (Ibiza maybe?). 60 limit, I was doing about 80 IIRC...

Looks like you've got it sussed. They're getting more and more commercial every year and trying to force punters into these £25 packs.They're near the bottom of this document;

But as you've discovered there is enough information in the competitors regulations on stage times and road closures.
Hopefully I can find my old OS map with the stages marked on it. The names may change but the stages are pretty much the same.
No, went to the ocean terminal the last time and it wasnt really worth it aned they have a lot more room than fountain park. You would be better getting down for the actual stages.

Heading down tomorrow and Sunday, looking forward to it!
Went to see the Fogo2 stage on saturday.
Weather could have been worse, the rally was cool.
nothing special to say except:
- the forerunner Mistu 0 surprisingly died in front of us (gearbox)
- strong overtake of a Civic on a 205, had to do it in the apex as the Peugeot didn't really let him go through....
If somebody is interested, I got few pics I can post.
edit: I nearly forgot! we had to pay £5 each to park and see the rally! what a bad surprise!!!
Is it the same on every UK rally?
Because I never had to pay for watching a rally in France, you can even get stages maps, etc for free!

We didn't pay anything this year, just abandoned the cars and walked around. £5 parking to park on public land?
Some shots from the weekend, there's more on flickr if you fancy a look.

Cheers,
Neil.
