The Mrs has a Z4 without cruise. I have a hip problem - it aches if leg stretched out for even shortish periods, and like to use cruise.

Can these be retro fitted, any ideas on cost?

Anything can be retrofitted if you pay enough. biggrin

I have heard its not that hard to do on pre facelift models, there is a kit available for around £160. Apparently post facelift it can't be done (or atleast not economically).

Oh, that doesn't sound too good. Its a March 08, on a 08 plate. I guess that's post facelift?

Facelift was 2006. It might not be that bad though. The kit is sold by BMW so might be worth popping into your local dealers parts department and having a word.

Had cruise control retro-fitted last year to my Z4C - 2006(56). £250 all-in from BMW main dealer.
Sourced it initially through the BMW UK website.

Have a look at Z4-forum. It can be done but the wiring on facelift cars (2006 on) is a bit more tricky. I did my first car and it was literally plug and play install. Later cars need another piece of wiring adding ut again I think it's all just plugs (just harder to get at)

Don't take the dealers first answer to the question as it is invariably 'no', as they tend to assume that it can't be done and are too idle to do any research. I have tried at 2 london dealers to get cruise retro fitted to my pre facelift car without success. I'm now going to buy the parts online and fit them myself....
