For various reasons, I haven't ridden my bike for nearly 6 months. Aside cleaning and oiling the chain, what else should I do before I get out on it this weekend?

TIA.

Check all quick release skewers are tight (plus all other bolts), check tyres are pumped up and not cracked, make sure saddle is heightened correctly (sounds stupid, but I got mine back a few weeks ago and the saddle had mysteriously changed height, and was a pain having only a 3/4 pedal stroke all the way home).

A dose of HTFU should help with that.

I've been living in the middle of Birmingham since September and have only just moved back to my parents house where the bike is - hence the lack of use wink. Tend to agree with you though I'll be out at least once, if not twice a week now I'm back.
