Looks like great fun. Strange that the chap in the car was not wearing a helmet???
Not really needed for VMAX as its a private event.I'd suggest that the Bruntingthorpe environment is safer than any public road ...

A blown tyre at 150mph is a scary thought.

Not really needed for VMAX as its a private event.188 is pretty impressive for a standard car.

Difference with a track and 100mph is you spin off and hit a tyre wall or armco.
188mph on a strip of concrete 2 miles long and 200ft wide is completely different.
Lets be honest people (probably the owner on his way home too) do 150+ on UK roads all the time without a helmet....its not a big deal

I think there is a difference between breaking the speed limit on the way home and continuosly caning a supercar up and down a track? Ask Richard Hammond how he survived. Also strange that the track days at airfields with coned off tracks also require helmets? 188mph on a strip of concrete 2 miles long and 200ft wide is completely different.

P.S. Not sure what a Jumbo Jet falling on someone has anything to do with the thousands of people that have blown tyres each year? Maybe some of us know people that have had a Jumbo jet fall on them but i dont.

Whilst trying to remain on topic (honest)
Most of the corporate/supercar experience days at bruntingthorpe do not require helmets either. A few years ago I drove a 360 spyder to 165mph (indicated) on the straight.....without a helmet, infact no one was wearing a helmet all day, cant remember the exact supercar experience company.
Thinking about it that makes the 188mph of the scud not that impressive when you consider the developement and extra years its has on the 360 spyder

There is a disproportionate step up needed to get from 165mph to 188mph as compared to the same 23mph step from 142mph to 165mph.Which makes the 206mph achieved by the Ruf Porsche on the same day even more remarkable.
