Need help! Looking to upgrade the internals on the audi! Do not have a clue where to start looking! Already 350bhp on standard internals can't push much more if any! It's the 1.8turbo engine! New to all this so as much help as pos will be greatfully appreciated!?

Cheers all

I'd imagine Dubsport or some of the VW tuners would have plenty of options.

Or look to mainland Europe or the US. These engines do seem capable of making quite good power.

I have been told 500bhp is probably the limit on one of these engines, but thanks for advice, looking for mainly names or types of internals (bran new to all this internal mod lark so excuse me if sound thick)

The only limit is how much you can afford. Im sure there are plenty out there with more than 500bhp.

I looked into buying a heavily modified MK3 gti which had the VAG 1.8Turbo engine and it was running 380BHP and was built for 500 the work was carried aout by JBS and was top notch, they may wll be worth a look at or indeed even to have a chat with.

I run a VAG 20v turbo in my mid engined polo and its got approx 550 bhp. Its the rods that are the week link in the engine really. Then go for upraeted valves and springs. Most of the engines have forged pistons as standard. I run 83.5 mm pistons forged rods inconel valves forged crank etc etc.

If you want big power ( over 400 bhp) you obviously need a big turbo large port head helps and a bigger inlet manifold as the original one becomes a restrition, then a bigger fuel system . If you need any help just let me know as I have had a few engine failures and I have a idea what works and what doesnt
