+1. The sizes are different for HSV wheels and Holden ones. E.g 19" wheels off VXR have different cap size to CV8 18".

I would like some CV8 ones for my track wheels. Holmart seem to be a bit dear?

HSV ones are about £33 a set from Walkinshaws

Sorry about that Alan, not so good after what happened to the car at Shakey's

Hi Gareth, still had a great weekend though, am looking at some new shafts from GFORCE
from the US, they are rated at 650 rwhp, that should be enough for now.

Stronger driveshafts are good in principle, but if they don't fail, then the next weakest part does - my friend had a major wipeout with his Corvette at the Pod; did both shafts, the diff and the gearbox. His is/was a stroked/bored 5.7 LS1. Its cost him over £5000 and it still isn't right, Sorry, I've got no answers, but once you go down the route of more power & grip etc something may break, but you have to make an informed decision.
In respect of the wheel centres, try LSV or RapidGB

That's more of a problem with manuals JJ. With an auto the whole drivetrain is preloaded when you launch so the shock is not as great as just dropping the clutch from high revs.

The HSV versions are a lot cheaper than the normal Holden ones, Odd considering most HSV stuff is marked expensive!
There is a different part number for the HBD wheels (Holden by design) which supposedly is a bit cheaper.

See, I tried the HSV caps in the CV8 wheels and they go in we a squeeze. But it breaks the snap lugs off.

Where did you get your holden badges from?

Yes they will Alan. Just phone them with your card number, they normally have them in stock. I got mine 2 days following order. £33 + IIRC.

Oh fk a duck. I might have got that wrong. They might have done something different for the UK ones. Best to phone them and check first. They will know!

If anyone is really desperate I have to visit my parts fellow in the next few days and I don't mind picking stuff up. "motomk resources" also has access to Paypal for remuneration! I am not a business though and heavy stuff like engines, gearboxes and whole cars don't fit in the postbags!

The VXR wheels are HSV OE, so the centres will fit, I offered them up yesterday, and they look to be spot on smile

Slightly reluctant to take the wheels off so prolly drill small hole in the old ones and hook them out with a coathanger smile

Cheers Mate. If you are visiting your friendly Holden Dealer maybe you could get a price for me on 4 caps for the arly CV8 18 wheels. Thanks.

V2 series III Monaro wheels? like these ones? if it is they normally charge me around $120 to $130 for 4 as they are not cheap. This is the original genuine Holden part for that wheel not the HBD (Holden by Design) wheel cap which I haven't seen.

Pic borrowed from another topic!
