Need a quick bit of advice with this unseasonal rain.

Got a 1995 Mk3 Gti 16V and it has developed a dislike of puddles. If i have to go through a puddle more than a couple of inches deep (nothing really deep, i'm not that stupid)than the engine revs slowly drop and then stall regardless of what I am doing. Last time it took about 30 secs to stall. Car then won't start for 5-10 mins then feels like its got an occassional misfire for 5 mins even with gentle driving. After that car is fine till another deepish puddle.

Any top tips to a mechanical luddite??? My only thought is the splash of a deeper puddle is causing some electrical issues

Cheers

Maybe. Worth resorting to spraying the entire area with WD40?? Or getting friendly garage to have a proper look?

Hey Madness, I too have a 95 GTI 16v'er and mines in for a new Dizzy - but sadly not for that reason.

I wanted to say hi tbh. good luck sorting out the motor. I love mine - when she goes.

Fingers crossed for Friday! And some good weather for the weekend!
