Just booked my first track day biggrin at Abbeville on the 8th August. Anyone else here going? We are staying Saturday night so can anyone recommend a cheap/ good place to stay. There does not appear to be much in Abbeville itself!

Any "local" knowledge appreciated

I may be going as a prelude to the French Frolic, but I haven't booked it yet. I've not been to Abbeville before so can't make any recommendations.

We stayed here: http://www.hotel-les3fontaines.com/en/index.php the last time we went in January, very nice place, good food and its Lotus friendly thumbup
Its about 20 miles from the circuit with some fun roads getting there.

There are cheaper places though, the Motel just up the road from the circuit is cheap and cheerful(but not exactly the Hilton wink )
We've also stayed at a place near Sangatte just by the tunnel which was cheap but is an hours drive to Abbeville.
Let me know if you fancy any of them and i'll dig the links out.

You'll have so much fun at Abbeville,i did my first td there and could'nt stop grinning for a week afterwards,a great little circuit(and very safe),have fun! thumbup

If you're doing it with LoT then various folks tend to stay at the Motel next to the track. Very basic but clean and there's a bar on site that closes when the last person goes to bed. Do a good steak frites too!

Failing that you can stay at the Mercure in town, or at the Ibis. The latter has a bunch of food options almost opposite, and the bar's open until you fall off your chair.

By the way, your nice new T1R's will get a VERY good scrubbing at Abbeville. You'll find they go off after about a lap or so, and then you can just hoon it sideways everywhere thumbup
