depends how high the bidding goes I guess, if it doesnt look like making a decent price he'll probably pull the auction. unless it really is one of these cases where serious cash flow problems means he'll literally take whatever he can get...

Doesnt say how much he wants for it? Also no reserve so may just be hoping it gets to a good price, although can see it ending suddenly near the end if that price is not reached.

Im sure will be advertised elsewhere, should be easy to identify with those wheels on tho!

Nothing stands out which is odd - normally theres something you can spot quite quickly which is just wrong.

No reason why somebody can't sell a car like this in this way, a car I saw advertised was up for 12K for a while but he stuck it on ebay (as he needed a quick sale) and got within £150 of it so it works !!

He given a mobile so ring it !!

The engine for sale add looks like the remains of my first Vz CV8 which sadly met a sticky end sideways into a lamp post at 30 mph. Not sure of the full damage under the bonnet, I couldn't bear to look. I knew it was a write off from the external damage alone, but suffice to say when the airbag smoke cleared the engine was still ticking over (just) although not sounding good and with the car in still in gear! If your thinking of making an offer be sure of what your buying.

I could be wrong here but this could be a scam!!! When i bought my Ro back in February i found it for sale again by another advertiser a few weeks later on the Auto Trader site... After a few phone calls to Auto Trader and a couple of emails to the seller it turned out that the seller was apparently in Spain trying to sell a UK spec Monaro well under market retail prices… He will reply that he has taken it to Spain but didn’t want it anymore so was prepared to take a hit just to get shot if it. What he wanted was for the money up-front which was to be paid to some apparent reputable holding company and he wouldn’t receive the cash until you take delivery of t car (ridiculous i know but people actually fall for it) then in turn he would pay for shipping and insurance to have it delivered blar blar blar... What these rouges are doing is watching the market and wait till the car has been sold, then a couple of weeks later re-advertise, that way they know the car is likely to be HPI clear etc, they get the details from the previous ads where the number plate was shown in the ad... To be fair to Auto Trader they were good and removed the ad straight away... If anybody wants to know more about this story then email me... Remember, if its too good to be true then it probably is!!

That is the normal story behind a scam selling a car - i've contacted some and had the same story. Normally though when you see them on Ebay they tell you to contact them by email only (by a hotmail or Yahoo account) as they have hacked into an ebay account and can't ask any questions sent to that ebay user. They quite often quote a price (well under market value) in the text of the ad to suggest what they would take.

Problem with Ebay is that people can remove the ad towards the end of the advert if they don't reckon they're going to get what they want.

If you need anymore info on this car (i'm pretty sure its my old one) just let me know. After the crash the cd player refused to eject my cd's. If you get my ac/dc If you want blood and best of the Cream CD out and they're not your bag I'd love em back. It will save me 20 quid.

Cheers Mike
