Anyone know the part # and/or where to source one? My car has an m.o.t. shortly and the cable is pretty dodgy.

It must be corroding from the inside as it's really stiff till i work it a few times. Have had both wheels off and its not the shoes or the mechanisms at the wheels.

Any further thoughts?

When my gearchange cable needed replacing (c£150 from the stealers)I got a specialist to make me one using the old one as a pattern. Saved over £100

They do all types of cables.
Just an idea! ideawink

Check the cable housing for scorch marks or other heat damage - I've seen a number of cars where the liner inside the housing has melted from the heat of the front turbo/downpipe. When you replace it, be sure to route it as far away as possible from the turbo, downpipe, and the rest of the exhaust. Some heat sheathing is a very good idea, too.
