Just wondering if anyone else is in MK and is being disrupted by the road closures for the cycle racing today - which doesn't even appear to be happening.

Apparently we're meant to have had 4 races by now and nothing has happened as yet. The only thing we keep getting disturbed by is Heart FM being played too loud.

The main races are meant to be tonight at 7pm and it was meant to be fun races and demonstrations all day but clearly no-one has decided to sign up for them.

No not on the A5 - there is racing taking place along Midsummer Boulevard all day (apparently) so it is closed off. There are also road closures opposite M&S.

However, there has hardly been any races so far despite some overexcited bloke shouting on the PA system every two minutes.

The main race with the actual professionals starts at 7pm this evening.

Last time that happened i was caught in a Jam for 40 minutes whilst they extracted one of the cyclists. 70mph+ dual carriageways and charity cycle events don't mix...

Blimey, I didn't know that there were so many MK based members!

If one of those bikes tries to overtake my Smart car on the way home from the station, I'll side swipe the buggersmile

Just walked past and wondered what the heck was going on. Thought it was some school kids having a bike safety lesson!

Bannatyne's? Avebury Blvd is fine so as long as there's not thousands of people parking for the cyclists then you'll be fine.
