GT5 Time-Trial Champs 3 - *discussion*
Discussion
Been thinking about the next champs. I've been thinking of making points available down to 12th, maybe to encourage people to carry on playing as it will mean more people have points down the table!
What's peoples feeling on this, as it would be;
1st - 15
2nd - 12
3rd - 10
4th - 9
5th - 8
6th - 7
7th - 6
8th - 5
9th - 4
10th -3
11th - 2
12th - 1
I think sticking to the same format as the last two champs, is key. Everyone knows what the routine is now, and I reckon it's easy for the new guys to pick up too! So, all that's left is a list of combo's.
Here's a list of cars we have already used.
Acura NSX '91
Art Morrison Corvette '60
Audi R8 4.2 FSI R Tronic '07
Amuse S2000 GT1 Turbo

Thus, I propose these combo's. If anyone has any idea's for combo's, please take the above list of cars into consideration and please check to see how competative the top 100 is with the online leaderboard. Some combo's can't be helped, but it would be nice to find a few that will allow as many players on here, to get into the top 100!

Anyone got any thoughts, post 'em
Cheers, Ian

Like the idea of the points system Ian, I kind of lost motivation towards the end and skipped out a couple of weeks. Maybe I'd have kept at it if there were more points to be earned.
No problem here with any proposed combo, possibly do something with the tyres like wk12 of the current series?

Cheers guys, but those combo's are only suggestions at the moment.
If anyone wants to search for a combo - use this website, it's good for seeing how big the gap is from 1st to 100th place.
http://www.team-gt5net.com/ranking.php?p=co0ca0s1m...
It will be impossible to dedicate rounds to N tyres, until closer the time. Perhaps round 6 could be found during week 5, to find if there are any combo's still available with less than 100 people in the top 100!
More input please guys. I hope we retain lots of familier faces
You will all want to do another champs when you see the prizes I have sourced for you all
(Only Brits get prizes btw

)The points idea is a good one - it'll keep things nice and close.
I shall reserve judgement on the N tyres until after this week as I have never tried them on any car.
All those combos look interesting to me although to be honest, I'm pretty happy with any combo and will simply do my best to go as fast as I can every week whatever they may be
My only pet hate is small cars on big circuits but, none of the above seem to fall into that category so all are fine by me
eta: over the summer months, I will be going away for at least 2 weeks and will be putting less time in than this last championship so, will be happy to go with whatever as its not likely I'll be in the running.

Ian this all looks great.
I really think the points system needs adjustment as you've already suggested. I recon it would be easier if we did points down to 18th position (doubling the 10 for a win to 20). This would bring in far more competitors to a new championship.
For a couple of rounds of the current championship we nearly had 20 people involved, each having their own personal battles, which is great, and now they can get some points for their efforts too.
I've no problem with the current car combo list already suggested.
Here is a list of all the cars we haven't already used so far to help people decide if they want to change any of the combo's suggested:

The only other problem I can forsee with another 12 week championship, is we are entering holiday season and people are going to be away at various points. I'm not sure how we get round that one - anyone got any ideas??
Two 6 week championships instead??...
Before we set a start date, lets see whats happens at the E3 show (1st week of June) with regard to the full version of the game, and hopefully we'll get an official release date
.
Just my 10p's worth. Regards to all Rufus.

Agree with the points system, the more the better I reckon!
I understand the holiday issue, but as I said in the previous champs, I don't see a problem with putting in times before the deadline if you have to. I don't see it as any advantage at all, if anything waiting until the last minute is the biggest advantage because you know what you have to beat.
I'll try come up with some better combo's, to try and avoid the abundance of TUNED vehicles. Again, if anyone has any they want to include - please do! I don't want all the blame for picking bad combo's haha!
My reason for wanting to crack on with the new champs ASAP, is due to losing players. I think keeping the ball rolling is important! I doubt the full game will be out anytime this year...and if it is, it won't be until Christmas Lol!
Thoughts?

Rufus, your points idea is good, but there really isnt any benefit for winning. revise your points system so that the winner gets 25, 2nd gets 20. basically motoGP points system.
I'd go with that. Right, there was no moaning about these events, so;
Week 1 (beginning Saturday 30th of this month) - Chevrolet Corvette @ London
Week 2 - Nissan Skyline Coupe Tuned @ High Speed Ring Reverse
Week 3 - Dodge Viper Tuned @ Daytona Road
Week 4 - Lotus Elise 111R Tuned @ Suzuka East Course
Week 5 - Renault Clio V6 Tuned @ Eiger Reverse
Week 6 - Mazda RX7 @ Fuji GT
Week 7 - Lexus IS-F @ High Speed Ring
Week 8 - Ferrari 599 @ London Reverse
Week 9 - Jaguar XK @ Fuji F
Week 10 - Nissan Fairlady Z @ Suzuka
Week 11 - Suzuki Cappucino Tuned @ Eiger
Week 12 - *to be chosen by 2nd place person before the end of week 11.
Points also will be changed to Rufus' suggestion
Any other last requests?
