During my drive down from Brum last night, I noticed some hesitancy in the motor when accelerating hard. If I backed off and took it more gently, it smoothed out, but flooring it again brought the problem back.

It had had a hot time through the middle of Brum to start with, so I don't doubt that engine temperatures were tested somewhat, but the cooling, etc is all working fine.

When cold this morning, everything was back as it should be! biggrin

Any thoughts as to what might be causing this?

Thanks

The leads and plugs get changed every service, so would it really be that? Maybe my coil packs are on the way out...

I had a similar symptom once and it was traced to a faulty throttle pot.

Mine was missing under full throttle. One of the coil packs was cracked. That was the fundamental problem. I just added leads and plugs for good measure.

Just spent nearly 2 months trying to track down the same problem. It looks like it could have been a dodgey "new" throttle pot.

Aha! I'll be on to the coil packs then.

I had a worrying moment that a sticking valve or oil flow problem might also have similar symptoms...yikes

Well, how about that then. Fearing all sorts of problems, Austec traced the 'problem' to an HT lead coming loose. Popped it back on, hey presto and no charge smile

I really should lift the bonnet now and again paperbag
