I Diconected the battery for 12 hrs thinking tnis would clear the codes but I still get the battery disconnected and misfire codes. I've spent hours looking on the net - can somebody help please ? 94 viper ( pre ODB 11 connector )

Hi Chris,

If memory serves me correctly on the GenI you need to disconnect the battery completely and touch the positive cable to the frame in order to earth it, which then clears everything in order to start again.

Unfortunately it didn't work - I diconnected all the leads in the black positive junction box under the bonnet on the drives side and grounded them - except the main positive feed directly from the battery . Any other Idea's.

Thanks

You need to do it at the battery, if the battery is still connected it won't work.

or grab yourself a code reader and clear the engin light with that , it will also tell you the problem via a engin code

Top Man, Thanks Dave.
Hasn't solved my problem, it still runs like a pig, but it cleared the misfire code.
It still has the battery disconnet code (12) does that just clear on it's own ?

Thanks again
