Where are you coming from?

For the first time, I am not travelling from England. I now live in Frankfurt so will be doing the drive all on my tod and meeting up with the rest of the team in Le Mans on the Wednesday.

Mainly I'm wondering if anyone else is coming from a non-UK place (apart from Lowdrag, that's just cheating!) and if so what will your route be?

Call me mad but I am not going on any toll motorways in France, adds a couple of hours to the journey but I'd rather have the €80 in my pocket!

Two of our group are coming up from Cornwall (which according to the locals isn't England technically), then going via Dover.

The other is driving, wait for it....

From Dumfries to Plymouth, then up to Dover with the rest of us for 6am on the Wednesday.

0755 Dover. Coming from Dorchester on Thames but in reality will be coming from my friends in Eastcote - easier than driving from here that day!

The two from Cornwall wouldn't include a certain Chris with his second Cobra would it?
I'm coming from northern Lincs (again) via Pompy and Le Havre rather than Hull Zeebruge this year.
Only asking 'cos my Cobra now resides in Cornwall with a chap who will be a virgin at Le Mans this year.

That is a bit of an estimate, it could be less but not by much. I was reckoning on about €40 each way, ish.

Just looking on Google Maps now, doing Munich to Le Mans without tolls comes out at around 12 hours! Using tolls gives 9hrs 25 mins so for you it might well be worth spending the extra if you can stretch to it. For me it makes a diff of around 2 hours (according to Gmaps, I've never done the journey myself) and as I am scraping the barrel, I'll be taking the cheap option

Have got a 6 hour drive to hull and then ferry to zeebrugge and probably another 6 hour drive to le mans!

LeoZwalf - I think ill take the expensive option. I am meeting my mates who are driving from Preston as they have my camping tickets and tent. I just need to time my drive to match thiers and last time i looked if i leave Munich when they leave Preston it wont be far wrong

Which ferry are you on? We're on the Wednesday evening one so may see you in the queue ... but we only have a 25 minute drive to get there
