T350 steering rack!!!

The sun was shining and felt like the perfect day for driving, so I pulled my T350 off the drive and noticed that my steering was quite stiff. I got out to shut my gates and noticed that there was quite a big trail of oil behind me. Straight away I thought oh no, steering rack! Had the car up on the ramps to confirm it and it is leaking oil really bad.

I was wondering if the steering rack for these is the same on any other vehicle? Or any advice on where to get one or get it repaired would be much appreciated. Cheers.

Kevin I have just had my steering rack refurbed at TrackvRoad. I think it is about £250 for the refurb and about the same again (4-5 hrs labaour) to remove and refit.

Don't use Greenwich Power Steering. Mine went there last May as it had some play. It came back and failed 11 months later with a pool of oil just like yours (the seals were fine when it went the first time). I sent it back for them to rectify and it's just failed again one month later!

Thanks a lot for the advice. I was in the middle of thinking of getting some nitron suspension aswell but guess this is now top of the priority list! Think Ill be going for the refurb option then after the bank holiday weekend. Thanks.

Track V Road did mine too,the bushes were shot allowing water into the rack,causing a pin to corrode and the rack to leak
