Lots of delivery miles 09 z4 3.0Si Coupes seem to have hit the dealerships.

Retail price £33.5K, on sale now from as little as £23995...

A bargain, I had a 30.si Coupe Sport and with similar spec 2 years ago it was £35k.

True, but £10k is one heck of an effect. Can you imagine the value of a used one say 6 months old.

Mine dropped £9k in 3 months, thankfully BMW bought it back as it was a lemon, even so the £9k drop was still more than they are selling this one for.

I can understand if your not certain about your sexuality why you might be frightened of the joys of open top motoring...

LOL, i do actually like open tops. I just think the new metal folding roof is unnecessary - BMW did it to match what the SLK does - a car predominantly driven by 50 something women. I just dont think thats the image i'd / we'd want to go for - we're not that old yet!

We had a look at the new z4 and my o/h wanted something harder & faster not softer - which the new z4 is. Plus you can get a better finance deal on an m3 than on a 35i z4, i know which one we'd go for.

Part of me really wants one (esp as I can't really have an M) and all of those @ £24k ish look like a bargain in some respects, especially when compared to the 2 yr old ones going @ something like £20k upwards.
However, I can't help thinking that you'd see another £10k disappear in reasonably short order. Maybe not 3-6 months but I bet that you'd drop that in 2 yrs max (and probably sooner).
Those older ones must be due for a fair drop after the introduction of all these new ones. I just can't imagine that anyone looking at the £20k+ price bracket is that sensitive to an extra bit for a new one with no miles, unless they're wise to the potential future hit.

I would recommend one Clinton, mine sadly when because of constant gremlins in the electrics. Other than that I thought it was a brilliant car and we personally preferred it to our previous Boxsters.

That's pretty good value and surely just a starting point for the determined haggler!

I'm guessing there won't be much left to haggle on though. Mind you as they will undoubtedly want rid of them with the new Z4 out who knows.

The other side of that is that BMW arent making another coupe z4, so these could be always reasonably high in demand. Plus you will easy pay £35K for a similar spec'd new one, so you're £10K ahead already on the depreciation stakes.

YHaving said that, some of these cars are in dealers at up to £28K (usually with a bit more spec), and only a few are around £24ish.

BMW are putting a residual price on the 09 ones of almost £10K, that means you'd 'only' lose £14K in three years on this. I'd say thats easily in line with the likes of a 350z, and someone buying a new 30i / 35i z4 can expect a lot worse.
