I spotted this one outside the showroom in Leeds...

Was at the launch event at JCT600 a fortnight ago. The roof mechanism works pretty well, not much room in the back for anyone under maybe 7 years old. The flanks are pretty high so the back seat passengers won't see much if anything (may cause travel sickness). There were about 150 people there, even though only one car was on show there wasn't exactly a queue to sit in it. Later it just became a £145k playpen full of kids while the parents drank the free champagne.
Not sure where it fits in, if you want a 2 seater the 430 is much more preferable, if you need the back seats then a 612 or Maser GT is a better choice.

I'm not quite ready to part with that kind of money but I have an R129 Merc SL and three kids under the age of 9. I can't get all three of them in the back but individually they fit just fine and I can sort of see a market for this car. It also looks a bit more "sleeping policeman" friendly? Not sure where it fits in, if you want a 2 seater the 430 is much more preferable, if you need the back seats then a 612 or Maser GT is a better choice.
I think the point of it is that it's a better GT car than the 430 whilst remaining a sports car, weight or not by all accounts it performs amazingly. The convenience of a proper tin top is not to be underestimated. I was initially incredibly sceptical of it but I can now see 'the point' as it were and think for 99% of driving on British roads it'd be perfect. Something that smoothes out our road imperfections a bit better with the ability to take all your stuff up to the furthest reaches of Scotland and not kill you, with top-down motoring when you fancy, would be bob on for me. If only I had £145k lying around...

Am I alone in thinking it looks best in red? (a first for a front engined Ferrari n quite a while)
"Vinaccia" for me. Have a play on the configurator.http://www.ferrari.com/English/GT_Sport%20Cars/Cur...
I saw a grey one at Maranello's in Egham this morning. Looked OK, I didn't realise what it was at first. To the uninitiated/casual glance it looks a similar to the other recent front engined models.
Me - I was busy drooling over the Gran Turismo S. Give it 2 years and I'll be having one of those for under 50k thankyouverymuch. Sounds lovely too.

Does the California still have the pea shooter exhaust with false tail end pipes or was that just the pre-production cars?
Yes, like the Scuderia.

See the real pipes behind,,, just.

I guess the top ones are just "smoke makers" as it probably only needs two.
