Anyone Had problems with AVO shocks and bushes

Recently fitted a set AVO shocks.
All well for the first couple of weeks then the bushes failed on the back, Last week I had the bushes replaced. A week later they have failed again ( Not HP ) . After a few emails with AVO they are aware of the problem and now have sent me a set of bearings to replace the bushes. Well in there wisdom only sent me the rears . So I have emailed them to me send the fronts.
The shocks do seem ok but cant believe they send them out knowing that the bushes fail on TVRs.
Has anyone else had this problem sure I am not only one ?

Which ones failed? The top/front ones tended to fail on the RV8 engined TVRs because the headers were so close to them. The other reason for wrecking them is tightening the whole lot up without weight on the wheels so the bushes are permanently twisted.

The rears have now gone twice in about six weeks the fronts seem ok.

Normally, you get what you pay for. Budget price, budget shocks. Sadly, sometimes you pay good money and get crap but AVO are usually OK. Maybe AB shocks will be along shortly to tell us how good the product is (or otherwise) and its a one off...maybe not?

I've looked into this recently as per my previous post moaning that all 4 of my Tam bilsteins are fubared after 5 years.

Apparently the shocks don't traverse a straight up and down motion but travel an arc.

This causes stress on the inside of the seal which wears prematurely causing failure.

It's essentially a design fault similar to the rear gearbox seal failure which also occurs due to slight misalignment between the gearbox and diff.

So - what you need is a shock with a bearing not a bush.

I believe Gaz Gold is the way forward and I've decided to buy some off Ebay and do it myself.

No way my warranty company is going to cough up for this even though they are aware that it's a crap design caused failure. I'm not convinced that I could easily prove the problem in court so I'm admitting defeat.

The rear bushes failed twice on my old T350. The Avo's were brand new and the bushes disintegrated straight away.
I ended up putting a harder grade poly bush on them from a bush managacturing company I found in a Ford magazine.

not on a TVR, buy I had AVOs on a Honda about 10 years ago ....I only had the car 2 years and was experiencing probs with the shocks before I sold it ...never again I said

the old saying of "buy cheap, buy twice" is particularly applicable to suspension components I feel LOL

I found this problem years ago and as a consequence never dealt with Avo. I cannot for the life of me understand why Avo don't give up putting soft bushes into spherical bearing loops, or come to that, use soft polybushes at all so close to manifolds.
I am not a massive fan of Avo valving BUT if I had a set on my car and I was not in a position to replace them, I would give them hell and insist on bearings and clips at cost or for free if I was in a really stinking mood.
