I know its been asked before, but other than the Racing Green cross drilled ones at £235, are there any other options around?

I got mine from TVR power, I had them cryo treated before i installed them, claims are that they last between 2-5 times longer so for £25 a disc i have give it a go!

Got new/decent pads, so they should be ok. They are causing serious squeal though, which is one of the reasons I was looking at new discs. I think the new pads are slightly larger than the old ones and are touching part of the disc surface which is not in great condition and causing the noise (and I am talking ear bleedingly bad here!).

Surface grinding may be a sensible option though. How easy are rear discs to remove? Take off wheel and caliper and disc comes off??

In my experience it is virtually impossible to stop the rears squeeling without proper anti-squeel shim plates. Are yours fitted? Without mine in it was ear poppingly bad.

I have the black stick on ones, if that's what you mean?

No, my rear anti squeal shims are metal plates covered in a plastic film. They clip to the pads before the pads are inserted.

Ah. Any idea where I can get some of those from?

Mine were already fitted. I'd guess I'd try AP direct.

Chamfer the edges of your pads and add copper grease to the back of the pads. Should stop the squeal.

Tried all that, no success. Pretty sure it's to do with the rough sections on the disc that are now being touched by the new pads. Thanks anyway!

Interesting! Last time we spoke you were saying all good things about the Carbon Lorrane pads whith only one drawback and that was some break squeal. Are you saying this is not the case now as it was the disks? How much did the disks set you back? Do you think the treatment has made any difference to them?
