Extra heat shielding

The guys who checked my geo this week noticed a little play in the o/s/r rose joint. They suggested it may be due to the proximity of the exhaust cooking off the grease over time, and wondered if there was any additional heat-shielding available.

Anyone else encountered this and/or know of any after-market shielding that could be added?

It's a 2004 3R - did later cars (or the M400) have any updates here?
