The warmest, nicest day of the year so far. I had a nice route planned for an afternoon blast, went to get into my Elise - it won't unlock! When i press the blipper, the indicators flash and it makes a small noise, similar to opening, but more like it is locking the car when already locked. Worst of all, I cannot manually overide it with the key (actually, I have never opened it with the key manually anyway, so not even sure if this ever worked??).

I am locked out, with no way of getting in.

The car is still under warranty, but wen I called the garage they said "bring it in on Tuesday". Ha ha. I could call the AA, but fear that they will just shrug their shoulders and offer to tow it to a garage.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

Your door locking module is faulty and will need to be replaced.
It's under the drivers side of your dash board.

The key will not unlock your car if it's been locked with your remote. Bad design by Lotus!
You will need to break into your car.
Best way is to gently pry the door glass out at the top edge and get something in to pull the button up. I've used long plyers in the past.
It's a 2 man job though. One to hold the glass out and one to pull the button up.

Don't break the glass!!!!

Just as wezzer said, it's 100% your central locking module. I have recently experienced the same thing with my Exige.
Lucky for you it is under warranty, as Lotus want £300 + for full dash out job, although as previously mentioned there is a " how to " on seloc.
If it is under warranty, may i suggest that you get them to come and collect it, rather than you possibly damaging windows/mechanisms.

Exactly the same problem a few months ago. RAC man eventually got in using tried and tested TWOCing method involving parcel banding, and drivers door. Door lock has to be in open position to allow plunger to come up. Once open you are sorted, just lock the car with the key only, don't use the remote, except to turn off the imobilizer.
Lotus do charge the earth to sort it, apparently it is 2.7 hours labour plus parts. The bits cost about £30.

Managed to get into it (break into it) - tips from a guy on Seloc. It'll get fixed under warranty, which wasn't the issue, at least I had an hours drive out in it today!

Thanks for all your help.

2.7 hours is a bit excessive for the CDL module replacement. I can't imagine the Lotus repair time is that long.
It can be replaced start to finish in about an hour as long as you know what you're doing.
