S2 Rear grill removal

Does anyone know if it is necessary to remove the rear diffuser in order to get the grills off? (Car is a K-Series engined S2)

I have loosened the bolt on the diffuser that seems to be attached to the grill and the bolt above (bolts to the body) but the grill seems to be attached elsewhere.

its an S2 its just a couple of screws and pulls out

if its an S2 111S then the OEM fitment IIRC are some pop rivets and some screws

but no need for diffuser to come off in either case....

On the outside edge of the grille there's a peg which needs to be pressed in (towards the centre of the car) so it pops out of a hole.
