I saw the original show and the trailer for this show also.

I will be watching it with interest.

The last thing I would describe it as is "funny" and anyone who thinks it is is ignorant and pathetic.

I must be ignorant and pathetic. You saw the original show as a teenager and didn't smile once?

From a review I've read about the new show even John can find his outbursts amusing.

Lighten up.

Wasent the original shown as a rather light hearted look into an unfortunate condition?

The original show was broadcast over 20 years ago, Panorama or QED. Think i was about 9 when it was on the Telly.

rolleyes I saw the original. It was hilarious in parts, tragically sad in parts (when he has to eat by himself for example). Not everything is black and white.

I saw a follow up program a few years back, where they followed him around his home town, he seemed to be doing ok for himself, given the problems he has.

There's been two, the one mentioned where he's at school and one a few years back when he was grown up.

looks like this is the follow on from the first two, I remember the second one with the young lad who told his dad he wanted to die because of all the naughty words he couldn't help himself from saying

Tourette De France! I have it on DVD. I'm not laughing though, this is highly serious material.
