make sure the watermark is complex enough to make it impossible to remove without destroying the image
I was a bad boy, friend sent me a proof from one of those very expensive studios. several minutes/hours of cloning I removed what appeared to be a very significant watermark and left it impossible to tell what had happend.

they are going to a magazine so I would hope they have more scruples........I was a bad boy, friend sent me a proof from one of those very expensive studios. several minutes/hours of cloning I removed what appeared to be a very significant watermark and left it impossible to tell what had happend.
Helps to know a bit about cloning out stuff to know how to make it hard to clone out a watermark.
Unless you want it massive and intrusive try and put the watermark in a complex area of the image, preferable with a unique feature that people know should be there, but isn't anywhere else in the image. A random edge shape of feature may also work. As an example if you were to put a watermark across the lower half of a face, obscuring the mouth it would be really hard to clone out, as there's no mouth to clone from somewhere else, yet people would know something was missing if it wasn't there. (okay crap example!)
