grif starting problem

hi,would anyone have any coments regarding a starting problem with my 1998 grif 500, when started the engine runs fine for about 2- 3 mins , then the engine stops and wont restart, ive always had to start with jumps since a new starter 3 months ago .basicly it ran ok for a week then it had to be jump started ending with the engine cutting out and wont restart even with jump leads,is it an earth related problem? many thanks to any feedback,,, john, jrvtvr

Is the starter actually turningwhen youtryand re start? Iwould be checking that and itsconnections since the problem seems to have raised it's ugly head since changing it.

thanks BB,already looked over conections with fine tooth combe will take another look,"maybe its that old tooth come of mine,, lost a few hairs over the years!! cheers BB.

Worth checking the resistance across the main feed cables to the starter period

Dont you have an imobiliser wired into the starter soleniod ? First port of call methinks.

Have you checked the battery to chassis, and chassis to engine earth with that fine tooth comb?

DMM between Batt+ and engine block on DC Volts when cranking would give a good indication of voltage drop (if there is one).

CONECTIONS! CONECTIONS! CONECTIONS! its all about conections, after my second look at the starter, its obvious to see that the one and only spade conection was "OMG" rattling,, after a pintch with my "precision pliers" all was well, many thanks to all &(bb) jrvtvr
