Seat (Leather) Re-Colour / Re-furbish

Just thought someone might be interested to see the results of recolouring seats to match an existing interior.

I have been after some different seats for sometime, I like the originals - but just feel like at my height (6'2") I could have done with a bit more support.

I toyed with the idea of either S2000 or MX-5 seats, but these still go for serious money and most of these cars have done serious milage, so seats on fleabay are usually pretty worn.

Taking the chance of seeing some T350 seats I bought them up, but they were completely the wrong colour for my car. All was not lost apparently, and after a very helpful conversation with a leather specialist in the North East a kit was on its way.

The results can be seen below, and up close they look pretty good, I am quite surprised how durable the finish is (but I guess time will tell..). All in, it was a good weekends (messy) work, but very satisfying as you see the colour change.

I would recommend this to anyone thinking of changing their seats (just for colour purposes), or if they are looking a little tired. You're looking at well under £100 quid all in. The 'new' seats had some quite heavy bolster damage (which was right down to the fabric under the leather), which with a repair kit has fixed up quite nicely.

Should have them in the car by the end of next weekend.

I am selling the old seats (standard Grif/Chim ones - with heated elements) - which are pretty much the same colour red as the inserts on the T350 seats.

I have not replaced the covers, they have been re-coloured.

Fantastic job, especially going from cream to black, that must have really tested the product. Good recommendation - I need to recolour my bolsters this year so will probably try this.
