My 9 month old X35D SE started spitting out the sat nav DVD intermittantly about a week ago saying reading error. At first it did it v occasionally now its doing it pretty well alls the time so satnav is useless.

Trouble is without satnav I'm relying on the girlfriend's map reading skills which is causing all sorts of strife not to mention driving round in circles!

Can anyone offer me some technical and/or relationship advice?

Got the same problem with my X5 "error in reading disc". Fault sometimes cures itself by leaving car locked for a short time but not always. Tried cleaning disc but makes no difference. Dealer time but I'm not expecting a cheap fix.

Why are you concerned about it? Take it back to your dealer and get them to sort it - no doubt a new DVD unit will be plugged in.

No need to spend time debating it on here when its under warranty anyway?

Prob for me is not the warranty cover its the hassle and not having the time of getting it booked into the stealers to get it sorted and the inevitable umpteen visits back and forth before its sorted.

So why have you bothered to waste other forum members time? Why should we bother if you can't be when your very expensive car is under warranty? I run a small business where I come across idiots like you weekly.

Get a bloody life & use the warranty that you paid for!
