What is the story behind this guy?

He doesn't seem as bad as people are making out and he wasn't too shabby at Monaco. Maybe it's just raised expectations due to his fathers racing experience?

He rarely gets out of the first round of qualifying whereas Alonso is regularly in the top 10. He doesn't improve much in the race either.

You could forgive him for being beaten by Alonso, but he struggles to finish ahead of a williams.

I'd guess Alonso is a key factor as to why Piquet has not yet been shown the door. Having Nelsinho as a number two driver (no double-entendre intended) would flatter most teams' lead drivers; come race or quali, he's easy prey and I'm sure Alonso is happy to have him serve as a substandard sidekick. Same could be said of Kovi's relationship with Hamilton?

Which is odd, because he was able to get results at Renault in the second-half of 2007. It's just at McLaren that he has struggled.

They are both out of their depth, bu Piquet alot more so, never going to be at the from unless some clever strategy is involved (but then strategy has NOTHING to do with actuall Racing).

Not like Flav to be short of Ballsy moves though - I'd have sacked him 1 or 2 races ago, being slower than FA is fine (he is one of the best 3 in F1), but to be as consistantly slow is terrible considering the expense to get that car on track.

I'm sure a trained monkey would not be much worse.

If a driver is "consistently slow", he should be consistent enough to not to make laughable mistakes on track. Junior is neither fast or consistent (by F1 standards, of course).
