Clarification please fuse 22
Discussion
Yes I know I said I would shut up until I picked up my car, but hey I'm a woman so what do you expect?
I had read a bit on here about the Holy Grail that is fuse 22. However both dealers I went to Saturday said no, no, no. It can leave the butterflies stuck open and buggers up the ECU to a degree where they find it hard to detect a real fault due the amount of misinformation on the computer printout. Now I dont have a clue. Some of you say that dealers actually pull the fuse and can wire an independent circuit.
Can some kind person with infinite patience please explain again for me the risk (if any) of releasing the banshee. I confess over 4,000 revs on my test drive it sounded pretty damn good to me.
Oh and as mine will still have over two years warranty to run. Is this affected if I do pull the fuse?

Hi removing fuse 22 will not damage the ecu it purley remove the power supply to a vacuum valve and the code flagged by the ecu does not put on any warning lamps and as nearly all the cars i see have either the fuse removed, the vacuum pipes blocked or a switch fitted i would not be concerned, works service will even fit you a bypass switch so if it could affect warranty i am sure they would not carry out this upgrade, If the fuse is removed for long periodsthe valves on the exhaust could seize, but if you are leaving the fuse out are you going to be concerned, by blocking off the pipes that go to the valves on the exhaust will not flag any codes so for long term disconnection i would recommend this method,

just goes to show how ill informed some dealers are !
if they have no understanding of such a basic component on the car, id hate to trust them to troubleshoot a real tricky issue ......
Remember, this is the same dealer who told Lady T that you couldn't get a sportspack on a Roadster.if they have no understanding of such a basic component on the car, id hate to trust them to troubleshoot a real tricky issue ......

lol Adrian i pulled the one near the engine the first time - had a funny effect on the car....
I think fuse 22 in the engine works the air intake or something or other.Like some owners, I was very hesitant in removing the fuse at first, but once removed, it hasn't been back in for over a year and I have had no problems apart from a very heavy right foot and an evil grin!
