...when Big Brother Series 748 starts mad

How much longer will they manage to stretch it out? Nobody's watched the last 3 or 4 have they? It just turns the TV schedules to st for 3 months, you just can't avoid it...

I've avoided the others, another one won't be hard.

And it's the 10th Anniversary series too so expect it to be rammed down your throat twice as much. Is this not the last one though?

C4, C4+1, E4, E4+1, More4, More4+1 - and more to the point any interesting programs on those schedules disappear for months.

I think Davina McSquawk was quoted as saying that it won't go on after next year's one....

Here's hoping, eh?

3 channels (that always show the same stuff as each other), and their hour-later equivalents

It's a fixed percentage of the channels that I have on Freeview - 6 out of 40 or whatever. If you're just dipping in for something to watch for half an hour the +1 channels might as well be a completely separate channel.

And then there's all the other coverage in the media - papers, radio, news, internet, etc.

Yeah but I have feeling your exposure to BB will be somewhat different to ours

Eastenders, Corrie, et al can be avoided pretty easily. It's almost impossible to avoid exposure to Big Brother - every ad break has the logo flashing up between adverts, etc.

The only way you could do it would be to leave the TV and radio off for 3 months, not pick up a newspaper, and not use the internet. Or talk to anybody.

since christmas, i've watched the wire, top gear, and mad men when they've been on, plus maybe an hour or 2 of other progs. through the week. ditch your tv for a month or so, its quite a good experience.

Believe me, I watch very little TV - and I have plenty of hobbies thanks! But when I do flick it on for a bit of escapism, the one thing I don't seem to be able to escape is BB. As I say, it's not just TV.

Must admit, I wasn't expecting "turn it off, it's all rubbish" in the TV forum!
