My 2001 5 series is fitted with a Becker radio cassette which has decided to drop the right hand speakers. I have tested the head unit and speakers and its the head unit at fault.

They appear to be as rare as chikens teeth. I have bid on ebay and always missed out. I cant justify £200 for a 2nd hand radio that may fail after 3 months anyway.

Can anyone advise what alternatives i can fit which will a) work with my CD changer in the boot or b) not look a complete arse in the dash ?

All suggestions welcome

Local electronics specialist should easily be able to sort it for a few quid.

all you need is the adaptors like here,

http://www.caraudiodirect.co.uk/index.php?cPath=81...

and one of these, Id go for an alpine with the retractable volume knob this shouls allow for the flap bit to come down,

http://www.caraudiodirect.co.uk/cd-players-c-2.htm...

if you havr steering controls theres an adapter for that on there as well.
